Day 3

We drove to Groningen from the lab in Assen at 9:30. When we arrived, we went to the analytical biochemistry department where we were shown around a bit. At 11:00 we interviewed Andres Gil, a Colombian working on his PhD here in the Netherlands. After this we got a more elaborate tour through some of the laboratories and were shown several different kinds of mass spectrometres (the machines also worked with at PRA). The next interview was with Peter Horvatovich, a Hungarian working at the university. After that we spoke to Tao Yuan, a Chinese man also working on his PhD. Afterwards, Peter Bults, a Dutch PhD student detailedly explained the work he does at the university to us, and we got to witness a meeting of some of the people at the university. We didn't really understand what they were talking about, but we definitely learned something about meetings in an academic environment.
